Lake View Presbyterian Church in Lincoln Park was designed in 1888 by John Wellborn Root, half of the influential Chicago partnership Burnham and Root. The building gives the neighborhood a freestanding example of Root's work outside the firm's signature office towers, with a facade that still holds a clear presence on the street.
