The Royer-Williams House was built by Henry Royer in 1887 in the Queen Anne style. In 1898 it was purchased by T. F. A. Williams, who lived here with his wife, sociologist Hattie Plum Williams, author of books about German Russians.

the building

Queen Anne detailing. The house shows hood-moldings over the windows, a prominent square bay window on the south facade with Victorian trim and brackets, and varied imbrication on the second floor of the tower and on the concave hip of the south bay window.

the style

Queen Anne (c. 1875–1905): The exuberant Victorian: corner turrets, wraparound porches, spindle trim, and a different texture on every story.
