The Ocean Spray Hotel, also known as the Carol Arms Hotel, went up at 4130 Collins Avenue in Mid-Beach in 1936, designed by M. L. Hampton Associates and built by Belsham & Hampton. It's a Streamline Moderne example of Art Deco architecture that stands notably outside the boundaries of Miami Beach's official Art Deco District, and it was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 2, 2004.

the style

The Ocean Spray is built in the Streamline Moderne strain of Art Deco, notable partly because it sits outside Miami Beach's official Art Deco District, showing the style's reach extended well beyond the boundaries most visitors associate with it.
