American System-Built Homes is a prefabricated housing system designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, an attempt to bring mass-produced, affordable housing within reach through standardized building components. The typology was a departure for Wright, better known for one-of-a-kind commissions, and the surviving example is listed on both the National Register of Historic Places and the Wisconsin State Register of Historic Places.

the building

A prefabricated system. Rather than a single custom house, this was conceived as a system of standardized, mass-producible components meant to lower the cost of home construction — a typological innovation within Wright's body of work, which otherwise ran toward bespoke commissions.
