151 North Franklin, officially the CNA Center, rises 568 feet over 35 floors at the corner of Randolph and Franklin in the Loop. Developer John Buck built it as the new headquarters for CNA Insurance, which has been based in the Loop since 1900, working from renderings by architect John Ronan first shown publicly in 2013.

A tower that grew. Buck's original 2013 proposal called for a 30-story building; by that November, backed by $145 million in equity financing, the plan had grown to 36 floors with 825,000 square feet of office space.

Tenant roster. Beyond anchor tenant CNA Insurance, the tower's office floors have also housed large space for Facebook and the law firm Hinshaw & Culbertson.

the architect

John Ronan, described as one of Chicago's prominent contemporary architects, designed the tower with AAI Associates serving as architect of record.
