Colonial Court, at 291–301 N. Garfield Avenue in Pasadena, is a bungalow court of six houses built in 1916 around a narrow shared courtyard. Architect John Cyril Bennett designed the houses in the Colonial Revival style, and the court was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 11, 1983.
the building
The bungalow court. Six houses are arranged around a narrow central courtyard, each finished with clapboard siding and jerkinhead roofs — the clipped-gable form typical of the style.
the style
The clapboard siding and jerkinhead roofs are hallmark Colonial Revival details, applied here across a full court of six matching houses rather than a single home.
