Designed by Meyer & Holler and completed in 1929, the E. Clem Wilson Building is a 182.5-foot Art Deco and Art Moderne midrise at 5225 Wilshire Boulevard, at the corner of La Brea Avenue. It appeared as the Daily Planet headquarters in the first season of Adventures of Superman.

the building

A building of borrowed names. The tower has carried a succession of signage identities rather than a fixed one: Mutual of Omaha, then Asahi Breweries starting in 1992, then Samsung in 2001. Today the sign above the building is simply blank blue.

the style

Art Deco (c. 1925–1940): Jazz-age glamour: towers stepping back as they rise, strong vertical lines, and zigzag or sunburst ornament.
