The Dr. Joseph Leidy House at 1319 Locust Street was built in 1893-94 by architect Wilson Eyre for Joseph Leidy, Jr., nephew of the noted paleontologist Joseph Leidy. From 1925 to 1979 it served as clubhouse of the Poor Richard Club, an advertising trade organization, and part of the Charles Morris Price School of Advertising and Journalism; it is now headquarters of District 1199C, the National Union of Hospital and Health Care Employees.
