Built in 1891 at 3261 23rd Street in the Mission District, this Romanesque Revival church was designed by the firm Percy & Hamilton. It is one of relatively few Percy & Hamilton buildings to survive the 1906 earthquake, and it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

the style

Romanesque Revival gave the church its round arches and masonry heft — the same solidity that helped it come through the 1906 earthquake when so much of the firm's other work did not.
