Town Hall Seattle occupies a Neoclassical building on First Hill built from 1916 to 1922 as the Fourth Church of Christ, Scientist, designed by architect George Foote Dunham. The church sold the building to its current owners in 1998, and it reopened the following year as a cultural center and performance hall.

the building

A long renovation. In 2017, Town Hall announced it had raised $20 million for a 'top-to-bottom' renovation. Construction issues delayed the planned reopening, and the building did not officially reopen to the public until May 16, 2019.
