Congregation Adath Jeshurun is a Romanesque Revival building at 397 Blue Hill Avenue in Roxbury, designed in 1906 by Frederick Albert Norcross and built by David Krokyn for a Jewish congregation formed in 1894. As Roxbury's Jewish community moved away, membership dwindled, and in 1967 the building was sold to Ecclesia Apostolic Church; since 1978 it has been home to the First Haitian Baptist Church, which restored it.

the building

A building, three congregations. The building has served as a synagogue for the congregation that built it, then Ecclesia Apostolic Church starting in 1967, and since 1978 the First Haitian Baptist Church, which restored it to its present condition.

the style

Romanesque Revival (c. 1840–1900): Round arches revived in heavy rough-cut stone: squat columns, cave-like entrances, and deep-set windows.
