The Laramie State Bank Building at 5200 W. Chicago Avenue in Austin is an Art Deco bank designed by Meyer & Cook and completed in 1928, its terra cotta ornament produced by the Northwestern Terra Cotta Company. The Laramie State Bank itself failed and closed on August 16, 1930, and the building went on to house Federal Housing Administration offices starting in 1936 and Citizens National Bank from 1946 until that bank was seized by federal regulators as insolvent in 1991.

the style
The building is an Art Deco design, its patterned terra cotta ornament typical of the style's late-1920s commercial buildings.
More on Art Decosignificance
Designated a Chicago Landmark on June 14, 1995, the building has since served as a restaurant and deli, a furniture store, and a banquet hall. It was foreclosed in 2012 and has sat vacant with deferred maintenance since, leading Preservation Chicago to list it among the city's most endangered buildings.
