The Cornelius Van Wyck House is an 18th-century Dutch Colonial home built in 1735 on the shore of Little Neck Bay in Douglaston, Queens. Cornelius Van Wyck inherited the surrounding 125 acres from his father, Johannes Van Wyck, who had purchased the land from Richard and Sarah Cornell; Cornelius and his wife Mary Hicks lived in the house and expanded the farm before it passed to his son Stephen. It is considered the most impressive architectural remnant of early Dutch culture in New York.

the style
