The Comcast Technology Center, completed in 2017 and designed by Norman Foster's firm Foster and Partners, is the tallest building in Philadelphia and Pennsylvania at 1,121 feet across 60 floors — and the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere outside Manhattan and Chicago. It sits one block west of the original Comcast Center at 18th and Arch Streets, forming what the company calls its Comcast Center Campus.

the building

Stacked functions. The tower stacks its uses vertically: television studios and retail on the lowest floors, offices for Comcast's software engineers through the middle floors, and a hotel and restaurant — the highest hotel in the nation — at the top.

A four-year build. Construction ran from mid-2014 to November 27, 2017. The first Comcast personnel moved in during July 2018, and the tower opened to the public that October.

the style

Contemporary Modern (c. 1990–present): Today's default architecture: floor-to-ceiling glass, crisp panel facades, bold cantilevers, and mixed materials.
