The District 13 Police Station at 28 Seaverns Avenue in Jamaica Plain was built in Gothic Revival style in 1873, designed by George Ropes for the independent town of West Roxbury as one of its last public works before Boston annexed it. An addition followed in 1892 from Edmund M. Wheelwright, then architect for the City of Boston, and the building remains one of the only high-style Victorian municipal buildings left in the city.
