The Roloson Houses are four adjoining row houses on South Calumet Avenue, designed in 1894 by Frank Lloyd Wright for client Robert W. Roloson and completed in early 1895. Rowhouses were an unusual commission for Wright, whose practice at the time ran almost entirely to detached single-family houses. The group was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977 and designated a Chicago Landmark on December 27, 1979.
the building
Four connected facades. The commission gave Wright the rare chance to design a run of four attached row houses along Calumet Avenue rather than his usual freestanding house.
