The Fairmont San Francisco is a Beaux-Arts luxury hotel at 950 Mason Street atop Nob Hill, credited to Reid & Reid and Julia Morgan. It was built by Theresa Fair Oelrichs and Virginia Fair Vanderbilt in honor of their father, mining magnate and U.S. Senator James Graham Fair, and became the founding property of what grew into the Fairmont Hotels and Resorts chain.
