Husky Stadium has anchored the southeast corner of the University of Washington campus since 1920, designed by the Seattle firm Bebb and Gould as the home field for Washington Huskies football. Set between Montlake Boulevard and Union Bay just north of the Montlake Cut, it has twice served as a stopgap home for the Seattle Seahawks — during the 1994 season and again in 2000-2001 — while their own stadiums were rebuilt.
the building
U-shaped bowl. The stadium's U-shaped design leaves one end open, a configuration that has carried through every renovation, including the $280 million rebuild completed in 2013.
More than football. The University holds its commencement ceremony here each June, and the stadium is now served directly by the UW Link light rail station, connecting it to downtown, Rainier Valley, and Sea-Tac Airport.
